Hello! My name is Sheherzad Preisler. I graduated from Columbia University in 2015 with a degree in Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African studies; I also followed the pre-medical track. During undergrad, I worked in renowned scientist and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Siddhartha Mukherjee’s lab, studying blood cancer and shadowing Dr. Mukherjee in clinic. Since graduation, I’ve found myself most passionate about science journalism. In November 2018, I wrapped my role as Head of Research at Ark Media’s Ken Burns-Led production of The Gene; it’s a docuseries based on Siddhartha Mukherjee’s book of the same title that’s slated to air on PBS in Spring 2020.
I have recently started working as PR & Social Media Coordinator at Ezra, a company dedicated to early prostate cancer detection using the latest AI+MRI technology.
